China: Release Guo Feixiong (UA 99/16)
Chinese human rights campaigner Yang Maodong (better known by pen-name Guo Feixiong) has difficulty standing up and has significantly lost weight. He is suffering from bloody stools and is bleeding from his mouth, including haemorrhaging large amounts of blood on 19 April. He is currently in prison as a result of his peaceful advocacy. Prison officials denied him a medical examination and adequate medical treatment.
Amnesty International is concerned about the fairness of proceedings leading to the trial and conviction of Leonard Peltier, an Ashinabe-Lakota Native American who was convicted of murdering two FBI agents.
