A GUITAR 25 YEARS IN THE MAKING.
After playing in The Cure for more than 25 years, Robert Smith has for the first time given his name to a guitar!
Robert and SCHECTER GUITAR RESEARCH have announced that the Robert Smith 'UltraCURE' model is now available world-wide.
The 'UltraCURE' prototype made it's stage debut on the CURE's European Festival dates 2004, and after some fine tuning, the finished production model was used by Robert as his main guitar on the American CURIOSA '04 dates.
Designed from the ground up by Robert, the 'UltraCURE' comes in night-black
gloss and features a set-in neck, oversized Mahogany body, Seymour Duncan
vintage '59 humbuckers, and a TonePros bridge. Robert has also added
a couple
of very personal touches: a 'CUREStars & Moon' dark pearl inlay
design on the fretboard, and his distinctive signature on the headstock.
Robert is donating all of his royalties on the sale of the 'UltraCURE' to Amnesty International.
An UltraCure Guitar signed by Robert Smith was made available to Amnesty International for auction.
A big Thank you to Robert Smith and Schecter Guitars not only for this auction item but for donating a portion of the proceeds of the sales of all UltraCure Guitars to Amnesty International.
