Title:   CHANGES TO AIUSA'S BOARD NOMINATING PROCESS
Resolved:

WHEREAS the membership of AIUSA has two main avenues into making policy for the movement, namely by using this resolutions process and by participating in the election of members of the Board of Directors; and

WHEREAS any changes considered by the Board of Directors to the resolutions process must now be presented to the membership through the resolutions process at all Regional Conferences and at the subsequent AGM under a previously passed AGM resolution; and

WHEREAS the election of members of the Board of Directors should also be the provenance of the membership and any substantive or major changes to this election process should also be vetted by the membership:

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that should any of the following major changes to the AIUSA elections process be under consideration it shall be presented through the resolutions process at all Regional Conferences:

1) eliminating the mailed paper ballot in sole favor of voting on the Internet;

2) eliminating the Nominating Committee; and

3) hiring professional 'headhunters' to do the recruitment.

Implementation: IMPLEMENTATION PROPOSAL: Should any of the following major changes to the AIUSA elections process be under consideration by the Board, the General Secretary will submit the proposed change on behalf of the Board through the resolutions process at all Regional Conferences:

1) eliminating the mailed paper ballot in sole favor of voting on the Internet;

3) hiring professional 'headhunters' to do the recruitment.

This would happen shortly after the Fall Board Meeting.

Update: Currently there are no plans of changing the recruitment of Board candidates or the voting process.
