Over 400 women and girls have been brutally killed in Ciudad Juárez and Chihuahua, Mexico since 1993. Some of the victims were employees of the maquiladora industry and disappeared on their way to or from work.

Jennifer Lopez Works With Amnesty to Expose Femicides
At the Berlin Film Festival, Jennifer Lopez received Amnesty International's "Artists for Amnesty" Award in recognition of her work as producer and star of Bordertown, a film exposing the ongoing murders of hundreds of women in the border city of Juárez, México. Lopez also worked with Amnesty to launch a bilingual website in memory of all the murdered women »

Josefina López, is one of today's preeminent Chicana writers. She has written such plays as Simply Maria, Or the American Dream, Confessions of Women From East L.A. and Real Women Have Curves. Josefina López is committed in bringing awareness and Justice for the Murders of Women of Ciudad Juárez, and has written a screenplay for HBO titled "Loteria for Juárez".

Amnesty International's Aliados con Amnesty Network invites you to attend this reading and presentation at CASA 0101 in Los Angeles, Ca, and will be present to collect petitions and letters to Stop Violence Against Women in Ciudad Juárez. Please attend in commemoration of International Women's Day and to support the campaign to Stop Violence Against Women.
