Sign the Petition against Torture
As part of the Denounce Torture: Stop It Now! initiative, Amnesty International USA is hoping to have at least 250,000 people living in the United States sign a special statement against torture. Amnesty International USA will use this petition letter in our efforts to show the Bush Administration, Congress, and others that those living in the United States are strongly opposed to torture and ill-treatment in all circumstances.

Interview: Alex Taylor, Latino Rights Advocate and AIUSA Volunteer
Alex Taylor del Cid, a committed human rights advocate, volunteers with Amnesty International USA as a specialist for Chile and collaborator for Argentina. He works full time for the Council of Latino Agencies, a community organization based in Washington, DC that conducts political investigations in benefit of the Latino community living in the area.

Call on Mexico to Increase Protection for Human Rights Defender Martin Barrios Hernandez
Amnesty International is concerned for the safety of human rights defender Martín Barrios Hernández, president of the Human and Labor Rights Commission of Tehuacán Valley in the State of Puebla, southern Mexico. He is at risk of reprisals as he continues to help local workers from the “Calidad de Confecciones” textile plant campaign for greater rights.
