Prisoner of conscience Mohammed al-Bajadi is being retried on the same charges for which he was sentenced to a four-year prison term in 2012. This retrial may well result in a harsher sentence.
Mikhlif al-Shammari has been sentenced to two years in prison and 200 lashes. If imprisoned, Amnesty International will consider him a prisoner of conscience.
He faces charges of “weakening national sentiment” and “weakening the morale of the nation”. He is currently being held at ‘Adra prison.
Mahmoud Hussien has been held in detention without trial for 293 days. He was subjected to torture and coerced into making a “confession”. He is a prisoner of conscience.
