Two more human rights defenders from the community-based organization the Movement for Democracy Current Force have been arrested and detained in Myanmar for their peaceful activism.
Human rights lawyer Dr Mohammed al-Roken, a prisoner of conscience, is now being held in solitary confinement incommunicado. He may be at risk of torture and other ill-treatment.
Five activists arrested for taking part in a peaceful protest have been sentenced to between 15-30 days in jail for an administrative offense. One activist was reportedly tortured in custody.
Saudi Arabian human rights activist Abdulrahman al-Hamid has been detained incommunicado since his arrest on 17 April. He may be a prisoner of conscience.
