An Egyptian court sentenced 37 people to death and 491 others to life in prison after a grossly unfair trial, in breach of international standards and Egyptian law.
Olbana Lelisa and Bekele Gerba are being denied medical treatment. The two men, political opposition leaders and prisoners of conscience, are reported to be ill in Kaliti prison, Ethiopia.
Saudi Arabian human rights activist Fadhel al-Manasif has been sentenced to 15 years’ imprisonment, to be followed by a 15-year travel ban. He is a prisoner of conscience.
Two men were reportedly tortured while in police custody in the Dominican Republic on 12 April.
