Sheriff and Marenah face charges for conspiracy to commit a misdemeanor and false publication. Both have been targeted for journalistic work and their right to freedom of expression.
Charges against Najlaa Mohammed Ali and Amin Senada were dropped on 2 December. The two activists had been at risk of imprisonment or flogging for ‘indecent behavior’.
On 30 October Adam Sharief, lawyer and activist, was released from prison after spending over one month in detention without a charge.
