Two lawyers face renewed threats in relation to their work on a high profile murder case. One of them has also been subjected to a lawsuit in connection with her work.
Zainab Al-Khawaja was sentenced on 9 December to one year and four months’ imprisonment for “insulting a public servant” and “destroying government property”.
Jason Rezaian has spent six months in solitary confinement. He has had no access to a lawyer, but was brought to court for the first time on 6 December. He is a prisoner of conscience.
