Qatari poet Mohammed al-Ajami, a prisoner of conscience, was released on 15 March when the Emir of Qatar pardoned him unconditionally.
Omani blogger Muawiya al-Ruwahi was acquitted by the Federal Supreme court in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on 14 March. He has been deported to Oman.
Kuwaiti human rights activist Nawaf al-Hendal was acquitted on 1 March, along with 10 other men, of charges including “illegal gathering”.
On 21 March the prosecution in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) replaced all terrorism-related charges against four Libyan men with new ones. The fate of three other Libyan men is still unknown.
