Sait Matty Jaw is facing trial on 23 December, along with researchers Seth Yaw Kandeh and Olufemi Erinle Titus over work done for a survey. They face up to two years’ imprisonment if convicted.
Farouk Abu Issa and Dr Amin Maki Medani were arrested by agents of the Sudanese National Intelligence and Security Services. They have been held incommunicado since then, without charge.
Sam Mugumya is detained incommunicado by the army in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The Ugandan government have accused him of planning a rebellion against them. He is at risk of torture.
At least 4 men, a 17-year-old boy, and 9 women have been arrested. They could face a life sentence. Amnesty International considers them to be prisoners of conscience.
