How to Use Chalking
Chalking sidewalks is a great way to publicize your group’s events or to raise awareness about an issue. You can use the messages and images that are part of a campaign or urgent action. Chalking should be done in strategic areas where people are likely to take note of writing on the sidewalk.
Some things to remember
- Keep the message short and simple.
- Use colors that catch people’s attention.
- If you are a student group, check with your school administration to make sure - chalking sidewalks does not violate any school rules.
- To get the job done quickly without disrupting people, plan on chalking when there is little sidewalk traffic.
-
Coordinate the chalking with an event or series of events you have planned and add that information to the chalked message.
