AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL
WEST HOLLYWOOD
May 27 - June 1, 2003
The Amnesty International Film Festival-screening annually in Seattle, Salt Lake City, Pittsburgh and West Hollywood, along with other special engagements-is proud to present its 2nd annual program at the Directors Guild of America. Co-presented by the City of West Hollywood, and in educational partnership with the Latino Museum of History, Art, and Culture, the festival will screen some 27 films from talented filmmakers from around the world who work against long odds, short finances, and threatening politics to bring to the screen these powerful stories of human struggle, sacrifice, and triumph. The Amnesty International Film Festival is dedicated to bringing these stories to our communities so that our colleagues, neighbors, and friends can see for themselves the diverse perspectives and many challenges facing people in every part of the world.
But most importantly, we hope to offer our communities an opportunity to see, to learn, and to care. And should some who attend be moved to action, Amnesty International is ready to help you get involved.
NOTE: The documentary and feature films and videos presented in the festival are individual works of art and journalism, and have not been produced by Amnesty International. The perspectives or opinions presented in these films and videos are not necessarily those of Amnesty International, and Amnesty International has not necessarily researched or verified any specific facts presented in the films.
Contact information for the distributor of each film is provided at the end of the film synopsis.
