- War Games
- Director: Marc Allen
Documentary. 2005. United Kingdom/Sudan. 58 min. Dinka and Arabic, Subtitled.
In January 2003, an amazing event took place in Southern Sudan. A few miles from the front line of one of Africa’s longest and most brutal conflicts, thousands of young people came together to compete in a barefoot, bootleg Olympics. War Games tells the compelling story of the realization of the Twic Olympics. It follows events as they unfold, providing an intimate portrait of a community devastated by war, yet still determined to make the most of every moment. The documentary was recently screened by BBC World as part of their Africa Lives season.
