Activists in Action
As part of the National Weekend of Faith in Action on the Death Penalty,
we invited several Amnesty activists from around the country to share their experiences
as an abolitionist working with faith communities.

Lubna A. Alam, Ballwin, Missouri
Lubna Alam (left), a practicing Muslim, became an abolitionist after an in-depth study of Islamic law and its view on capital punishment. She is an active member of Amnesty International in St. Louis area and served on the 2003 National Weekend of Faith in Action on the Death Penalty advisory board.

Anne Geyer is Coordinator of AIUSA's Local Group 516 in The Woodlands, Texas. Group 516 in The Woodlands, Texas reaches out each year to local congregations as part of the annual National Weekend of Faith in Action to Abolish the Death Penalty.
