2011 Midwest Regional Conference

2011 Midwest Regional Conference

More than 250 Amnesty International leaders from across the Midwest attended the 2011 Midwest Regional Conference in Kansas City, MO. Highlights included plenary panels on death penalty abolition, the Middle East and North Africa, and workers' rights; the films Los Invisibles, Sri Lanka Killing Fields, and ICYIZERE: Hope (including a conversation via Skype with the filmmaker); and the Demand Dignity 101 workshop. Participants enjoyed other special events at the conference as well, including state lunches and the Halloween Dance Party. Following the conference, members had the opportunity to participate in a post-conference workshop on how to run a successful group.

Next up is the 2012 AGM! We hope you can join us in Denver, CO, from March 30 to April 1, for our annual human rights conference! With the Rocky Mountains as our backdrop, we will venture to voice our commitment to human rights around the world and take a stance on crucial on-going issues. Join 800 other members, leaders and activists in this exciting program: attend passionate speeches by notable members of our community, take part in important discussions that could change the course of our history. Come join our movement for human rights and be a part of the action!
