2011 Mid-Atlantic Regional Conference

More than 275 Amnesty International leaders from across the region attended the 2011 Mid-Atlantic Regional Conference in National Harbor, MD. With the theme Rise Up: Be the Change, the conference featured powerful speakers' including Amy Goodman, host of Democracy Now! and Audryn Karma, daughter of Filep Karma, Amnesty International Prisoner of Conscience and Mid-Atlantic Special Focus Case. Highlights of the conference included speakers' panels on the Middle East and North African uprisings, a session on corporate accountability in Nigeria's Niger Delta, a spirited action in front of the White House, and inspiring and dynamic workshops on priority AIUSA campaigns and issues.
