Maryland Human Rights 2.0

The key to being a powerful activist is effective communication, and that means understanding and using cutting edge tools. This workshop will focus on developing skills for using social media to make a real impact for human rights. Whether you're a seasoned Twitter user, ready to sharpen your activism skills to spread a message far and wide, or a long-time activist who is curious about how Facebook or YouTube can be used to amplify your work, but don't know where to start, this training is for you. With important campaigns to defend the human rights of immigrants and to repeal the death penalty in Maryland as our backdrop, we'll not only build a strong foundation for activism, but also develop strategies to win. If you're new to social media, and need help setting up accounts and/or need other basic training, please come to our pre-training at 10am.

This workshop is free and open to the public, but please RSVP to jmanske@aiusa.org for your materials packet, and so that we are sure to have enough refreshments!

Basic training begins at 10am, followed by Activism 2.0 at 11am.
