Annual General Meeting and Human Rights Conference

52nd Annual General Meeting: March 10-12, 2017

Amnesty International USA's 2017 Annual General Meeting and Human Rights Conference will bring together human rights activists from around the world and will give us an opportunity to engage in networking opportunities, inspiring plenaries, outstanding keynotes, and hands-on skills-building workshops, as well as to help shape the policies of the organization.

Our theme this year is The Power of Us. Together, we have the power to create a world where human rights are enjoyed by all. The 2017 Annual General Meeting will equip and connect Amnesty International USA’s members and activists to help defend the inalienable human rights of all people – no matter who they are or where they are.

Request for Proposals

AIUSA members and staff are encouraged to submit proposals for sessions they would like to create and organize to grow the movement, inspire activism, and lead to positive change. The Request for Proposals process for the 2017 Annual General Meeting will be live on the Activist Resource Community (ARC) in mid to late October. Your proposals will help create a diverse and inclusive agenda for the AGM, while helping to shape the national and global dialogue for human rights activists. The submissions deadline is December 21, 2016.

Our goal is to highlight the human rights work we are doing locally, nationally, and globally while elevating activism in our host city. Sessions will be selected and approved by the 2017 AGM Planning Committee. Members and staff are encouraged to collaborate on proposals.
