Human Rights Activism in Tarrant County - Join Us!

Calling all Amnesty members interested in human rights activism to join & support Tarrant County Local Group #413! We are a flexible group driven by human rights interests of our members and we need more people like you to help continue our activism.

We recently collaborated with a local theater and several churches on a candlelight vigil to remember Matthew Shepard after the play about his life and death: The Laramie Project. Other successful projects have included hosting author and anti-slavery activist, Kevin Bales; visiting and writing letters to a non-violent prisoner convicted in a protest at the School of the Americas; and numerous panels on human rights topics. We also do frequent outreach by tabling at Peace Fairs, Environmental Events, and Aids Walks. We would like to create more opportunities and events, but, we need your help! If you are interested but cannot come to this particular meeting, please e-mail Ellen Kaner at
