Global Day of Action in support of Nigeria's LGBT Community

On Jan 14th 2014, Nigeria passed into law a bill that criminalizes same sex relationships, & imposes a 14year prison sentence for LGBT Nigerians. Since the passage of the law, a number of people have been arrested and mob violence against LGBT people in Nigeria has increased. Today, the Nigerian LGBT community and their friends, families and allies live in an atmosphere of fear and insecurity.

In the light of these disturbing facts, the Solidarity Alliance, Nigeria calls on the world to join in a Global Day of Action against violent and legalized homophobia, social injustice and systematic violation of fundamental human rights.

Join us and lend your voice and support on the 7th of March 2014 from 11am to 1pm EST.
