Change Our World: Amnesty International Human Rights Conference & Training

The Change Our World Human Rights Conference and Training will be held October 5-7 at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, NM. This weekend of human rights action will be filled with speakers on prominent human rights issues, workshops on activism skills and specific focus issues, and networking with activists from New Mexico, Colorado and Arizona.

The conference will kick off Friday evening with an immigrants' rights rally in partnership with local organizations and leaders. Saturday we’ll hear from keynote speakers Palden Gyatso, Tibetan Prisoner of Conscience who spent 33 years in Chinese prisons and Juan Meléndez, who spent over 17 years on Florida's death row for a crime he did not commit. We’ll have workshops on women’s rights, environmental justice, lobbying for human rights and event planning, among others, plus a networking caucus session for students and community activists.

Participants must register to attend the conference. Click here to register or contact the San Francisco office at (415)288-1865.
