Amnesty International & NYC Pride

The details on locations and time won't be finalized until we get closer to the Fest, but the basic details are available now:

Saturday, June 28th: Tabling Volunteers will work in 2 hour shifts to gather signatures for petitions around Amnesty’s LBGT human rights work. AIUSA will provide these petitions for tablers, who are asked to work to get PrideFest visitors to come to the Amnesty table and offer their signed support. Volunteers during the first and last shifts will also spend time setting up and breaking down the table. Volunteers should be prepared to be on their feet for 2 hours. The approximate address is Hudson St between Abingdon Sq and West 14th street.

Sunday, June 29th: Marching in the Pride Parade Volunteers will meet by 10:30am to line up for the parade. The official line up begins at 11:00am and the parade starts at 12:00pm. The approximate meeting point in the morning is 36th and 5th. Volunteers should be able to be on their feet for about 4 hours (including line-up time).

This is a BIG event for AIUSA and we are excited to have you take part. We're accepting volunteers now, and will close the tabling shifts when we have enough. For the march, we are taking marchers right up until the day of the event- so tell your friends!
