This is a day-long event that is designed as both an introduction to the organization of Amnesty International as well as an opportunity for seasoned activists to hone their skills. It will consist of a variety of workshops about the history of Amnesty International, what tactics human rights activists use, a showcase of the events South Carolina AI groups have done, and planning multi-group events.
This event will be followed by an optional group dinner (location TBA) as well as a contra dance social from 7:00-10:30pm for all interested parties.
This event is open to anyone interested in human rights, regardless of AI membership status. There are no registration fees; the only costs attendees will be responsible for are transportation costs, the optional dinner, and parking.
To register, please contact the South Carolina Student Activist Coordinator Kali Esancy at [email protected]. In your email, please specify your t-shirt size and whether you have any dietary restrictions (vegetarianism, allergies, etc).
Event time: 9am - 4pm
