2004 Annual General Meeting

Intersecting Commitments: Fighting Discrimination / Strengthening Organizational Diversity

Friday April 16th, 2004
10 am to 4 pm (lunch provided)
Salon C, Second Floor

Amnesty's increased attention to discrimination-related human rights abuses also supports the organization's diversity goals. This participatory workshop uses a human rights perspective on the ethical and strategic links between these "intersecting commitments" to explore the centrality of discrimination in our human rights work, and how the complex identities of individuals and groups can increase their vulnerability to having their rights violated. The workshop will conclude with a consideration of the ways we can act individually and collectively to dismantle identity-based discrimination in the United States and strengthen organizational diversity in AIUSA.

Space is limited. Please RSVP by contacting Domenico Romero at 212.633.4297 or dromero@aiusa.org
