About the Project

"Instant Karma: The Amnesty International Campaign to Save Darfur," seeks to mobilize millions of people around the urgent catastrophe in Darfur, Sudan. It combines the power of John Lennon's music recorded by some of the world's best-known artists, together with cutting-edge forms of instant activism enabled by the Internet and the latest in mobile technologies. More than 50 musical artists, including U2, Green Day, Ben Harper, and Aerosmith, have joined this international effort that combines John Lennon music, technology, and human rights activism. » Visit the Site

Darfur Now

dn_static_banner_60.gifDarfur Now is a documentary about the struggles and achievements of six different individuals from inside Darfur and around the world that brings to light the tragedy in Sudan and shows how the actions of one person can make a difference to millions. Read more.

What is Amnesty doing?

AI is also directing a global petition at heads of state urging them to live up to their own promises on Darfur by creating a timeline and benchmarks to get U.N. peacekeepers on the ground and and to provide financial support for the mission and humanitarian operations. Funds and visibility generated from the Instant Karma CD and related material will allow Amnesty to respond even more effectively to the changing situation in Darfur, helping the organization push for decisive action to end the violence.
