15,509 activists wrote to their Congressional Representatives urging them to oppose a dangerous bill making its way through the House that would prevent any funds from being spent on prosecuting Guantánamo Bay suspects in U.S. federal court. This action obstructs justice and further delays plans to close Guantánamo detention facility.

Americans across the nation held 145 events in their communities to demonstrate to Members of Congress and President Obama that there is widespread public support for closing Guantanamo and accountability for torture.

27,651 Amnesty supporters took action to stop a bill that would block Attorney General Eric Holder's decision to try the alleged 9/11 conspirators in U.S. federal court.
