This is Issue #4: Women and Girls – the final segment of the 4-part action series on Darfur. Use this guide to take action and raise awareness to protect women and girls in the Darfur region. Sudanese government forces, rebels and government-backed militias called Janjawid are committing human rights violations which specifically target women and girls-- including rape, torture and forced displacement. Call on the U.S. government to provide assistance and protect women and girls by supporting a UN peacekeeping operation to end the humanitarian crisis in Darfur.
