SHARE POWER Campaign – Direct Letters to Chevron, Dow and Yahoo
SHARE POWER uses a variety of approaches to achieve corporate change. One of those ways is to directly approach the Board of Directors or CEO of the companies we are concerned about.
Direct letters send a clear message to management about our concerns. They can also create a great opportunity for media attention, and demonstrate solidarity with the communties we are fighting to protect.
When you join the SHARE POWER Campaign you sign the SHARE POWER Pledge, which indicates the level of activism that you are able to commit to and helps you set targets for letter writing and participation in the Campaign.- Level 1
- Takes a minimum of 1 person, and as little as 30 minutes planning time:
- Raise awareness in your community/at your school about human rights abuses connected to Chevron, Dow, and Yahoo, and collect 25 or more letters, postcards or petition signatures, addressed directly to the leadership of these companies, demanding that they address their human rights responsibilities.
- Canvas friends and family to sign, or table (with permission) at a local coffee shop or other public location. Attend a concert/poetry slam/film screening or other event and collect signatures there, or plan a house party screening of a relevant film. Visit our SHARE POWER Resources and Information page for tons of materials you can use!
- Level 2

plan – but we'll provide you will all the tools

If we can sign up just 200 activists around the country to the SHARE POWER Pledge, we can meet our goal of 20,000 letters!
But in order to do that, we need your help!
