
Some films have the power to educate and prompt people to act. Amnesty International is proud to support Bordertown, a film starring Jennifer Lopez that tells the story of a reporter who is sent to Juarez, a city gripped with fear where hundreds of women have been brutally raped and murdered.

Artists Jennifer Lopez and Antonio Banderas joined Amnesty International USA (AIUSA) on March 8th, International Women's Day, in expressing outrage over violence against women globally and calling for justice in the murders of 400 women and girls in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico, since 1993. According to comprehensive analysis by Amnesty International, approximately 400 young women have been murdered or abducted in the cities of Juárez and Chihuahua, Mexico since 1993. In Guatemala, over 2,500 women and girls have been murdered since 2001.
The producer of Bordertown, Barbara Martinez Jitner, is traveling around the country to educate people about the femicides in Ciudad Juarez and Chihuahua, Mexico.
