Human Rights Concerns
This year marked the 10th anniversary of the massacres at Srebrenica – when at least 7,800 Bosnian Muslims were killed – and the perpetrators of war times human rights abuses remain at large. Impunity for war crimes and crimes against humanity committed during the 1992-5 war continue to be widespread. Thousands of “disappearances” are still unresolved. While perpetrators of wartime violations continued to enjoy impunity, victims and their families were denied access to justice and redress. » Read more

Ten years ago, some 8,000 Bosniaks (Bosnian Muslims) were massacred after the UN "safe area" of Srebrenica fell to the Bosnian Serb Army. Crimes committed in Srebrenica have been recognized as amounting to genocide by the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia. Although some perpetrators have been prosecuted at the Tribunal, indicted suspects are still free. » More actions
