Student activists have historically been at the frontlines of human rights movements: from standing in front of tanks in Tiananmen Square to sitting at lunch counters in Greensboro, North Carolina. Amnesty International is one way to join the movement for social justice, learn more about global issues, and educate others about human rights!

Get Involved.
Enlighten Others.

There is no better way to become enlightened and involved in global issues than to organize a student group on your campus. By becoming a registered student group with Amnesty International you are on your way to shining the light on human rights!

What You Get When You Register.

Officially register your Amnesty International group for the 2008-2009 school year.

Amnesty International provides registered groups with the resources needed to build an active group. By registering, your group will receive the following:
Urgent Actions: All Amnesty International groups receive Urgent Actions, which provide a powerful and effective way to campaign on behalf of men, women and children worldwide who are facing torture, "disappearance," execution or other life-threatening violations of their basic human rights. On the registration form below, you decide how many Urgent Actions your group wants to receive per month and where you want them to be mailed.
Activist Toolkit: Includes information about Amnesty International's campaigns and actions, background information on Amnesty, organizing tips and ideas, a group leadership guide and more. When you receive the Activist Toolkit, use the Human Rights Action Guide to decide what other actions you would like to participate in this year.
Invitations to attend important educational and inspirational events, including regional conferences and the Annual General Meeting. Watch for mailings and visit the Events Calendar to learn about these and other unique events that may take place in your state.

QUESTIONS? Call the Membership Program Coordinator in the regional office nearest you by dialing (toll free) 1-866-A-REGION.

Group Contributions: All contributions to the national work of Amnesty International USA are voluntary (In the past AIUSA asked for $50 from high school groups and $100 from college groups). If your group would like to contribute any amount, please send your payment to your regional office. Your donation helps cover costs of resources such as the Activist Toolkit, publications, campaign tools and other materials.
