to an interview with Rev. Timothy McDonald. Rev. McDonald is senior pastor of
First Iconium Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia, where he has served
since 1989.
He is also president of Concerned Black Clergy, an ecumenical
consortium of black
and white clergy working on behalf of the poor in Atlanta, and a member of the
Board of Directors of People For the American Way Action Fund, a
national nonpartisan
citizens group. He has previously worked as assistant pastor at
Ebenezer Baptist
Church in Atlanta, where Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. served until his
assassination
in 1968.
